Every meaningful journey starts with a small moment.
In 2012, a young man came across a volunteering opportunity and made a call to the number given, just out of curiosity. When he asked when he could join, the answer was simple: “Now.” That one word marked the beginning of a journey that would grow far beyond what anyone imagined at the time.
With no prior volunteering experience, he simply started helping wherever he could. One activity led to another, and volunteering slowly became a regular thing, not just something done occasionally. Each experience showed how much difference it makes to simply show up.
As these experiences were shared on social media, more people started reaching out — wanting to help but not knowing where to start. It became clear that many people wanted to volunteer, they just needed some direction.
This led to the creation of a simple online platform in 2012 to share volunteering opportunities and experiences. That small step became what we know today as V The Volunteers (VTVO).

This led to the creation of a simple online platform in 2012 to share volunteering opportunities and experiences. That small step became what we know today as V The Volunteers (VTVO).
As more people joined and connected with different community groups, a simple belief took shape — one that is the motto of VTVO today:
"See a need. Take the lead."
At heart, VTVO believes that volunteering is about stepping in with no expectations — no titles, no rewards — just good intent.

Today, VTVO is a volunteer-led movement across the country. It brings together students, working professionals, homemakers, and people from all walks of life. Everyone contributes in their own way, and together, small efforts turn into real change.
The journey began with one simple idea — VCelebrate, celebrating birthdays for children in children’s homes. As more people joined in, new causes came up. VPaws came together to support animal shelters, Elders Adda began to spend time with senior citizens, and many other initiatives followed — all driven by what volunteers cared about.
VTVO keeps growing because of its people. New causes don’t start from plans on paper, but from volunteers who see a need and decide to step up.
Because at VTVO, volunteering isn’t about doing everything.
It’s about doing something — with care, regularly, and together.
