What We Do?

02

Read and learn together

Once the children choose their books, volunteers sit with them and help them read, understand the story, and talk about what they have learned. It becomes a shared learning experience filled with curiosity and conversation.

01

Introduce children to the joy of reading

Our volunteers bring books from different genres and spread them out for the children to explore. Each child is encouraged to pick a book that interests them the most.

03

Build confidence through storytelling

After reading, children are encouraged to come forward and share the story with others — either by narrating it or acting it out. This helps them build confidence, overcome stage fear, and express themselves freely.

Why it Matters?

Because reading opens new worlds
Books introduce children to new ideas, stories, and perspectives that spark curiosity and imagination.

Because learning becomes easier when it is shared
When volunteers sit and read with children, it turns learning into a fun and engaging experience.

Because confidence grows with encouragement
Speaking about what they’ve read helps children overcome hesitation and build confidence in expressing themselves.

Testimonials

I am truly happy that I came across VTVO on Instagram. I felt so happy every minute I was at Sarvoham. It has been my dream to be a volunteer. But hesitated all these years because I might encounter dogs with major injuries which I am not comfortable with as I am so light hearted towards four legged souls. But Vpaws made it easy for me due to which I have volunteered for the second time. And looking forward to volunteer more in 2024!

I think the experience was  more therapeutic for the volunteers as compared to what we could do for the cutest beings and paws. Imagine soo many happy faces coming to you just for some love! Definitely an experience edged into my core memory and I can't wait to volunteer more.

It was so comfortable and homely getting to know and spending with all the volunteers at the shelter.

It was an amazing time, spent time with beautiful dogs and understood the difficulties the shelter owners face.

It's a wonderful experience to be a part of the team. There are more beings in our country who needs hands as well as beautiful creatures like dogs, cows, and many that needs some help to fulfill their basic needs. I am grateful to be a part of the team to contribute my support to the needy. Great job VTVO.

About the Cause

VRead is an initiative by VTheVolunteers that aims to encourage the habit of reading and learning among children living in children’s homes.

Through this initiative, our volunteers visit children’s homes and introduce children to books from different genres. The idea is simple — to help children discover the joy of reading, explore new stories, and learn something new along the way.

By spending time with them and reading together, we try to create a space where children feel curious, confident, and excited about learning.
